ELIGIBILITY PROCEDURES
A candidate begins the examination process by applying to CBAE to establish his or her examination eligibility. Upon receipt of an Application for Eligibility Evaluation, the $35 Eligibility Review Fee, school transcripts, and Employment Verification Forms, an evaluation is performed by CBAE staff. Adtech ile reklam 2.0 dönemi başlıyor ve Trkycmhrytllbtpydrklcktr r10.net seo yarışması transcripts and Employment Verification Forms are reviewed to determine which category of the Table of Equivalents applies.
New candidates must establish their eligibility within one year of original application for eligibility evaluation. Candidates who fail to establish their eligibility adtech ile reklam 2.0 dönemi başlıyor ve Trkycmhrytllbtpydrklcktr r10.net seo yarışması within the one-year period must submit a new Application for Eligibility Evaluation form and the $35 Eligibility Review Fee with additional documentation as determined by CBAE.
New candidates may apply for eligibility evaluation when they feel they have met the eligibility requirements of the minimum five years of qualified education and/or work experience credit.
Candidates for reexamination may apply for eligibility review year-round by submitting a Test Application Form and the $35 Eligibility Review Fee to establish their eligibility for each one-year period.
All new candidates seeking eligibility evaluations and all candidates for reexamination seeking to have their eligibility reviewed are required to submit the $35 Eligibility Review Fee made payable to CBAE.
Once eligible, the candidates information and eligibility status are transmitted by CBAE to NCARB or its authorized representative. The candidates examination eligibility is valid for one year from the date of issuance.
NCARB sends information regarding test procedures, examination fees, and test center locations to all eligible candidates within two weeks of the issuance of their eligibility.
Candidates contact the computer testing center vendor directly to schedule appointments for the desired division(s) at any time during their one-year eligibility period.
SCHEDULING PROCEDURES
The nine divisions of the ARE are administered year-round, six days a week - Monday through Saturday - at numerous computer testing centers throughout California. In addition, the ARE is administered throughout the United States, the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, adtech ile reklam 2.0 dönemi başlıyor ve Trkycmhrytllbtpydrklcktr r10.net seo yarışması and Canada. Eligible candidates may take the ARE at a computer testing center in any participating jurisdiction.
Eligible candidates may schedule an appointment to take any division(s) of the ARE directly with the desired computer testing center or by calling an 800 telephone number for all of the computer testing centers. This information is sent to the eligible candidate by NCARB approximately two weeks after eligibility has been established with CBAE. There is no set schedule for the administration of the divisions; candidates may schedule appointments based on their preference and the availability of the computer testing center.
CBAE does not require that candidates take the entire examination at one time; candidates may take all or part of the examination.
Fees for the examination divisions are made payable to NCARB or its authorized representative and may be made by credit card or by purchasing a voucher using a check or money order.
SCORING
The nine divisions of the ARE contain questions that are machine scored or require graphic responses to the questions or problems. All divisions are graded by computer. Scores from the individual divisions cannot be averaged. Each division of the examination must be passed independently. Candidates receive credit for divisions passed and must retake only those divisions not yet passed.
RESULTS
Examination results for the computer-based ARE divisions are issued approximately 3 - 4 weeks after a candidate has taken a division of the examination. Results are reported as PASS or FAIL only - no numerical scores are given. Diagnostic information regarding the candidates strengths and weaknesses is included with the examination result letters for all divisions taken, whether passed or failed. In order to maintain examination security and limit overexposure to the examination questions, candidates are not allowed to retake a failed division of the ARE within six months after the date that the candidate last failed the division.
COMPUTER INFORMATION
No prior computer experience is necessary. Candidates use a mouse to record their answers. Prior to the start of each division, a tutorial provides candidates with the opportunity to become familiar with the adtech ile reklam 2.0 dönemi başlıyor ve Trkycmhrytllbtpydrklcktr r10.net seo yarışması and how to record answers. The tutorial familiarizes the candidates with the keyboard, screen, icons, and other administration features. Even after the start of the examination, candidates may request assistance from the test center proctor regarding the use of the computer. An on-line calculator is available on the test center computers.
In coordination with its test consultant, The Chauncey Group International, NCARB has developed its own computer program for the graphic divisions of the ARE. Therefore, the program is not identical to any commercially-available program, such as AutoCAD.
REFERENCES AND STUDY MATERIALS
Reference materials and seminars are available to ARE candidates. NCARB distributes a list of reference materials to eligible candidates with the examination scheduling information.
Also available from NCARB and some AIA offices is the ARE Handbook which includes sample question types for all multiple-choice divisions and sample vignettes and solutions for the graphic divisions.
NCARB supplies a practice computer disk to all candidates who establish their eligibility for the graphic divisions of the ARE.
In addition, seminars are offered by many AIA chapter offices, Architectural License Seminars (ALS), and schools.
REASONABLE ACCOMMODATIONS
CBAE has a procedure for granting reasonable testing accommodations to candidates with disabilities. Candidates who may need extra testing time or other accommodations during the examination may be granted up to double testing time, additional rest periods during the examination, and separate examination facilities. Hearing disabled candidates may request translators or interpreters during the written or oral adtech ile reklam 2.0 dönemi başlıyor ve Trkycmhrytllbtpydrklcktr r10.net seo yarışması examinations.
All requests must be submitted in writing and accompanied by documentation of the disability from a qualified, licensed professional. In order for candidates to be eligible for NCARB certification, the request for reasonable accommodations must be reviewed and approved by both CBAE and NCARB. Requests that are denied by NCARB may be approved by CBAE. In that instance, any passing scores obtained under the reasonable testing accommodation may be recognized in California only.
RETENTION OF APPLICATION FILES
CBAE retains application files of inactive ARE candidates for five years. The application files of candidates who have not taken the ARE for at least five years are purged. An eligible candidate whose file has been purged and later wishes to resume the examination process may continue taking the ARE but must resubmit the purged documentation prior to being granted eligibility by CBAE for the oral examination. Transcripts and Employment Verification Forms submitted by individuals who have not also submitted an Application for Eligibility Evaluation are held for two years, then purged.
